Five suspected cultists have been arrested following the cult clash that occurred in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State few days ago.
The suspected cultists were alleged to have killed two persons, including a vigilante officer, in the town.
During the attack that rocked the town, the arrested cultists identified as Femi Adeoba, known as FM; Ope, Dele, Lasco and Ola were said to have shot and killed Seun Akinsiku, who was a vigilante member, and one Seto Ogunye.
According to sources, the killings were a reprisal between two cult groups.
Confirming the arrest, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the suspects were nabbed by the joint operation of men of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Amotekun Corps.
On Friday, last week, Adeoba, alongside his gang were said to have stormed Akinsiku’s house at Oke Agunla in Ondo town around 6pm and fired shots at him.
Meanwhile, the grieving father of Seun, Mr Gabriel Akinsiku, has described the death of his son as a shock to him when he saw his lifeless body on the floor after he was shot.
